Chateau Pradeaux, Bandol Rouge 2018 Provence

The wines of Provence evoke a mystique and romance. We all want to be sipping a chilled rose at a table beside the sea along with a plate of fried local seafoods or Soupe de Poissons. And while this is a beautiful image let's not forget the magic of Bandol's red wines that express the power and richness of the noble Mourvedre grape. On the short list of standard bearers for all Bandol wines, if not atop this short list, is Chateau Pradeaux. The Bandol rouge is a wine in which the Mourvedre grape is allowed to speak for itself. It comprises nearly all the blend with the exception of about 5% Grenache added for extra spice. The vines are farmed organically and no vines under 25 yrs of age are included in the wine. Some of the vines remain productive at 100 years. Traditional wine at its heart and very core. This is what you want for your grilled or roasted lamb.
