Ciallabianco, Ronchi di Cialla 2018 Friuli

Ronchi di Cialla, refers to the the hills surrounding the city of Cialla in the Friuli Colli Orientali region of northeast Italy. In the 70's the Rapuzzi's gave up selling Olivetti typewriters and bought some land here with the determination to focus on local and indigenous grape varietals. Ciallabianco is their white blend of Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo, and Picolit- grape varietals with deep roots and tradition in this land. The vines average 30 years of age. The wine is rich and complex with nutty honeycomb notes. The fruit suggests yellow plums, green apples and pear. Meant for a dinner with close friends and family coming together to celebrate the good things in life.
