In our humble opinion one of the world's great expressions in the white wine world is Chateauneuf du Pape blanc. Deservedly famous for the reds let's not forget the whites from here. In the right hands, from fruit carefully tended in the vineyards with right soils the whites can be glorious. This example from the small family domaine of Brun Avril is such a wine. Old school traditional winemaking resulting in a wine of great richness, depth and complexity. Impressive weight on the palate, ripeness and the acidity that provides balance and length. This is a wine for a special dinner or occasion. After all, white burgundy isn't the only show in town!
