Domaine Gavoty "Clarendon" 2020 Provence, France

A compelling example that speaks of the rich variety of fine wines- reds, whites and roses- the vineyards of the Cotes de Provence can produce. Of course, a fine bottle of wine must begin in the vineyard, tended to by conscientious winemaking. In Domaine Gavoty's "Clarendon" of 100% Vermentino, or Rolle as it is called in this part of the world, we have a wine of great breed, remarkable focus and concentration. Very old vines, organically farmed, provide a multi dimensional, complex wine redolent of white pepper, pear, and stunning minerality. Vinified and raised in cement and stainless steel this is a wine that relies on it's fruit to speak for itself. A sheer pleasure.
