Description
The Petrera family have been making wine in their small estate in Puglia since the late 1800's but like so many grape growers throughout Italy came to bottling their own fruit much later, in this case in 1987. Their wines include three different Primitivos and this one bianco. The local Greco grows in a single 1/2 hectare vineyard block of 20 year old vines. The entire estate practices organic viticulture and in fact is a zero emission wine estate. Their greco is very attractive light gold/yellow in color and marked by aromas and flavors of salinity, wet stone, white pepper and green apple. The stainless steel fermentation serves to accentuate the purity of fruit and its minerality.
