Ferrando "Etichetta Bianca" Nebbiolo di Carema 2017 Italy

Carema is a very small wine area at the edge of Piedmont bordering the Valle d' Aosta. We are in the foothills of the Alps. The vineyards are very steep and terraced. Some might even say gravity- defying. The Ferrando's have been making wine here since 1900. Their wines display a deep regard for the land, the local culture and wine making tradition. From granitic soils and vines averaging around 35 years of age their Nebbiolo from Carema is highly sought after for the great elegance, finesse and complexity they express. Grown with a different Nebbiolo clone than the grape used in both Barolo and Barbaresco Ferrando's Nebbiolo wines are of a different nature than their more famous Piedmont neighbors yet no less profound. These are wines to cherish and relish.
