Gatti "Villa Marilla" Verdicchio di Matelica 2024 Marche, Italy

Marco Gatti has fashioned from his 7 hectare estate an absolutely lovely Verdicchio. It's attractive medium yellow straw colored hue is followed by expressive aromas of stone- like minerality, a hint of citrus in the background and bitter almond. The palate is intense while very balanced: full, penetrating and persistent. Has the acidity for shrimp and the body for scallops. But pork loin or herbed chicken will work wonderfully as well.
