Gil Berzal "Buscando" Garnacha Naturel 2022 Rioja Alavesa, Spain

Though Berzal's Buscando is from the Rioja Alavesa region the focus here is on their plot of land in Laguardia.: relatively high altitude, rocky soils, with chalk, sand and clay. The intention behind all the wines they produce is to offer wine that speaks of place of origin. The winemaking philosophy is to treat every vintage as a distinctive gift from the land. In that end the winemaking is holistic from treatment of the soils, the vines and grapes, and the handling of the finished product. Their Garnacha is rich and bold, with intense fruit, held together gracefully by its fine tannins. Quite an elegantly rich Garnacha.
