Description
Jean Manciat has a small wine estate in one of the smallest but highly regarded Macon sub appellations of Macon Charnay. From his 10 acres or so of clay limestone soils Manciat produces a Chardonnay of great character. Fermented in stainless steel with natural yeasts the wine is a beautiful light gold/yellow; appley with hints of the soil from which it came; fresh and penetrating, fresh and alluring this is my kind of chardonnay with its fleshiness held in check by a firm acidity and freshness. A mouth watering chard!
