Ferocious winds, poor soils underneath a layer of petrified lava from a volcano in the 18th century are as much a part of the winemaking here as the Listan Negro grape. At once, both concentrated and utterly elegant, this is a beautifully compelling wine. Its aromatics of red fruits, minerals, herbs and wildflowers are so perfumed as to make one swoon. On the palate: graceful power. Versatile as a wine can be food- wise..One of our favorites for sure.
