Out of this northeastern corner of Italy, near the Alps, the Adriatic Sea, and the border of Slovenia, the steep hillside slopes of the Collio region give us what is regarded as one of Italy's greatest white wines: Raccaro's Friulano Vigna Rolat. Grown in stony and sandy soils, with vines averaging 30years of age, this Friulano sings of freshness, depth and exquisite minerality. It's stainless steel vinification adds to and amplifies the mineral, soil flecked, citrus and almond-y richness of the fruit. Bring on the Porchetta!
