Vallana, Campi Raudii Nebbiolo blend "Library Release" 2016 Piedmont, Italy

The Vallana family's wine estate was formed in 1937 yet their roots in the Alta Piemonte reach back far longer. They are custodians to a land, a heritage, and culture that expresses itself in the range of traditionally made wines they produce at the estate. Nebbiolo in these northern reaches of Piedmont is called Spanna and in this cuvee it is the dominant varietal with small amounts of both Uva Rara and Vespolina. Dark fruits, perfumed berry, a touch wild, a bit bold. Beautifully textured and elegantly structured.
