Vilmart & Cie "Coeur de Cuvee" 2015 Champagne, France

Vilmart is a renowned family Champagne domaine dating from 1890 when it was founded by Désiré Vilmart. Managed by Laurent Champs it remains a family estate now in its 5th generation. The estate and its fruit come from vineyards designated Premier Cru and the character and finesse of such noble grapes are clearly evident in these Champagnes. Their Coeur de Cuvee is their top wine comprised of 65 year old ungrafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines . The wine is bright with underlying acidity and rich creaminess. Full bodied, while nuanced and layered, the Coeur is deserving of special friends, loved ones and a special meal.
